My name is Fazila Dawson. I am a Relationship Counsellor who works with both couples and individuals. I hold a Masters in Psychology, a Diploma in Relationship Counselling (from Relationships Scotland) and I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy, a professional body that ensures Counsellors and Psychotherapists work to ensure ethical practice for our clients.
Although I continue to volunteer time to Relationships Scotland, I started Link Relationship Counselling to offer my services more widely and in a way that is tailored to clients. I currently provide counselling on the Southside of Glasgow from Southside Counselling and Therapy Centre and have started offering online counselling due to covid 19 (for which I have undertaken additional training).
I use an integrative counselling approach, combining psychodynamic, systemic and attachment-based models. This approach understands relationships and human development in the context of past and present experiences and takes into account the broader context we live in. Where appropriate I may draw on other approaches if it will benefit the counselling process. My approach focuses on building an understanding with you of your relationship distress, exploring specific factors and possible ways to address these.
